Porridge

Not everyone likes porridge, its so bland even when smothered with syrup or sugar and stuff. But I like porridge done this way. Boil it up as per normal with a sprinkle of salt, slosh onto a plate, sprinkle raisins Demorara sugar and drizzle liberally with dark rum.

Don't bother throwing out porridge left overs to the ducks as they prefer Quackers oats.

Why is there no monument

To porridge in our land?

If its good enough to eat

It's good enough to stand!

On a plinth in London

A statue we should see

Of porridge made in Scotland

Signed ''Oatmeal, O.B.E.''

A Dustbin of Miligan! Used to have that as a kid but lost it. I think it was in that Millign book where a mother said to her son:

"John, your father wants you to build a boat at once!"

"Where is father?" inquired John.

"He's in the middle of a lake drowning!"

Something like that anyway.

Perhaps it was "The Little Pot Boiler" then. I had that too.
