Pub advice - Bridgewater Canal

Does anyone know where the nearest pubs (ie walking distance) to Preston Brook Bridge (Br.1) are ? My Nicholsons only shows a pub at Daresbury (Ring O' Bells ?) and some in Runcorn. A quick look on Googlemaps only showed a 'Premier Inn' Anyone know of anything nearer, and how far is it ?

I do not know of any other pubs close to the cut although there is one on top of Preston Brook Tunnel (The Tunnel Top)

I can't think of any near to where you are...probably the premier inn is nearest. Pretty sure it has a family pub attached to it.

Probably better off nipping to the spar across the road and grabbing some booze from there.

The 'Preston Brook' is perhaps a mile towards Runcorn along the main road. It used to be a 'family' pub with kids' playroom etc., I gather all gone now. I've not been in for years, but someone told me the other day that it's not too bad.

 

Otherwise yes, the Tunnel Top or the Ring o' bells, which would be a bit of a trek along a busy road.
