4LW Bleeding fuel lines

I take it you mean you have changed the small filter on the end of the forward cylinder head?

If so depending on whether your engine has a Amal lift pump or is gravity feed there is a small blanking plug/vent on the top of the filter assembly. undo this (don't fully remove) and if gravity do it back up when you see clean diesel flowing from it. If it has a pump, use the priming leaver on the amal pump until again you get clean diesel.

Some Gardners have a nasty trick of stopping with the Amal pump on the cam - i.e. with the pump lever being held up by the camshaft. That means that when you pull the lever on the Amal, you don't deliver much fuel. It can be helpful to turn the engine over by hand for a revolution to see if you get a longer pull on the pump lever

Yes , that's the one.I take it that the 4 lever fuel pump won't need priming as it's below the filter so will still be full of fuel.
