GSer
Generally fiddling about on the boat today, so i decided to clean/oil the airfilter on the 2lw, took it off, drained the oil out, wiped down the case and cover, reassembled, filled up with fresh oil, started it up and got on with some other chores. About an hour later i noticed the oil level was low so i just topped it up a little, about an hour after that it seemed low again so i repeated the top up, doh! Never occoured to me that the engine was running causing the inlet manifold pressure to drop and in doing so allowed the oil level to appear low, i then opened the engine room side hatch to see clouds of smoke billowing from the exhaust I'll not do it again i suspect she wasn't far away from 'running away' on the excess oil, i'd noticed that as i walked about the boat the engine note atlered slightly. Never again!
