boat fire around little Venice

I've heard on the grapevine there was another boat fire, this time in the Little Venice area. There seems to be quite a few at the moment. Do we know what caused this one, or how it happened? Again, I believe this was someone's home. I assume all are ok??

I have just seen the photos, the innards are fairly wrecked, but the structure, at face value and as far as I can see, looks less damaged than some narrowboats subject to fire.

As I understand the situation, the couple that use the boat were not aboard at the time, so thankfully no one was hurt.

We are waiting for a confirmed cause, speculation is not worthwhile.

Key learning point at the moment: Remember to test your smoke alarms folks.

Not a lot of good if your not there to hear it.

Hi Brian

as it happens in several fire incidents over the years, alarms have gone off on empty boats. these have been heard by nearby moorers who not only called the brigade, but also set about the fire by hoses and whatnot, thereby limiting the damage to recoverable levels.

So there can be an advantage.
