PULLEY FOR BMC 1.5 WATER PUMP 4 BOLT, 6" DIA.

Featured Posts

Hi,our boat has an old BMC 1.5 engine and the water pump has broken. It's 4 bolt, 6" diameter, 2 1/4" depth pump.

Although it seems easy enough to buy a new water pump either on eBay or from ASAP supplies, we also need a pulley, which is proving difficult to find.

Can anyone recommend anywhere??

Thank you.

Talk to Calcutt Marine. The BMC experts I think.

James

Thanks James. I have just rung them and they are going to try and help. They want me to email a photo to them and give them the dimensions, and they might be able to help. I will also try what Chris Pink suggested and see if I can track down Luctor et Emergo. This is the first time I have used Canalworld and it's great! :)

Ask user Luctor et Emergo whether there was a water pump pulley on the block I gave him. I seem to remember there was.

Excellent, thanks James... I'll try and do this.

Don't know if the diesel is the same but on the petrol the pulley is made from 2 steel pressings and held onto the flange on the water pump by 4 bolts. Can't you re-use the existing pulley?

Thanks for your reply Chalky. Unfortunately we can't fix the pulley because the mounting plate has come right off the pulley. It's stuffed! Have spoken to Calcutt, PB Mechanical Services and Lancing Marine and they all said they would see if they have one if I sent them photos. Have done this, so now keeping fingers crossed. Thanks to everyone for trying to help.

Hi i have the same problem . Did you manag to find a pulley

As it is over three years since he last posted, he may not see your question.

Calcutt Marina are recognised as BMC engine specialists, so it may well be worth your while contacting them.
