On this forum someone recommended checking www.kogan.co.uk I bought the 24 inch LED Flat Screen with DVD player. Then buy the 12V cigar adapter and it runs off 12v happily. 35watts. Really efficient. Its was 140 quid! Most specialist 12v tvs are over 400. I couldnt believe the bargain, and the tv is ultra thin. Mounts under a gunnel tidy. Cant recommend it enough. They have a variety of sizes. Guest
Its was 140 quid! Most specialist 12v tvs are over 400. I am surprised at how cheap they are now - we used to have a 12V when we caravanned many moons ago (An Alba CRT one not flat screen) and you did then pay a significant premium for 12v - now it seems you don't have to. http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/16737970/844184101/AEG-CTV-4889-12V-Digital-TV-with-DVD-Player-LCD-TV-USB-and-SD-cards-slot-Built-in-Battery-230V/ListingDetails.html?_$ja=tsid%3a11518%7ccat%3a16737970%7cprd%3a16737970
grahame r
We have had an AKURA 19 inch for about 4 years now. It cost under £200.00 then and is about £140.00 now. It has a built in DVD which died after a couple of years but I think this is normal for vertical DVDs so worth getting an extended warranty if it's reasonable. It operates exactly like a 240v. Still available on Ebay.
snigsnig
The new Cello one has a built in satellite receiver too, as well as freeview, so you can hook your dish straight to it, no need to drain more power to use a separate receiver. Think its around £200. N

Bobbybass
I have an Alba from Argos..19 inch 18 watts..it was £149 at the time. It has a plug in mains power pack....which terminates in a 4 pin plug. I have used a stabilisor I got on Ebay...that takes the 12 volts and converts to the 4 pins....and to be honest..I would be wary of just plugging a set into 12 volts without it..as your batteries can hit well over 14 volts and a modern LED set would have a short life...the same as using LED bulbs on a boat.. OK..it will work..for a 'while'. My Alba set..is 18 watts (19 inch)..but Argos are currently doing a 19 inch TV/DVD for £99.99 that is LED and 14 watts...BUT I haven't looked at it to see if it has a 12 volt supply.. If you look at the Argos site..they have power wattages displayed on there.. You'd have to go into a store an 'view' to see about its power arrangment. I am running a PACE 1000 Sky minibox (12 volt) from a power stabilisor..and that uses under an amp....so total consumption as diplayed on my gauge is less than 3 amps..for TV and satellite. Wow What a smart TV, will definitely be ordering one of these, power saving, lighter, cheap with free postage, a no brainer me thinks. The Spec states Wall Mount Hole Pattern: 100 x 100 is this the same as a standard VESA wall bracket?

They vary apparently but there is a 100mm x 100mm http://www.123brackets.co.uk/What-is-Vesa-19.html
bottle
As an aside, an' HD ready TV' is not the same as a 'Full HD TV' Hint: check the tuner.

Ex- Member
As an aside, an' HD ready TV' is not the same as a 'Full HD TV' Hint: check the tuner. It states full HD I was told only touch anything described as HD if it displays @(1920x1080) Sets with less resolution can still be legally described as HD but (1920x1080) it the optimum and best.
