I stumbled across this book whilst on holiday last week. I thought, well, it worth a punt.

 

 

Wow. What a book. I can honestly say I had the worst nights sleep after reading a few stories that I can recall. Very, very creepy but well written.

It is, isn't it! I particularly liked 'The Mine', 'Boswell Summit Pound', and 'Hawley Bank Foundry'.

 

All carry the mark of a good author.

 

 

Yes, it was the mine that freaked me out.

I have a 1948 1st Edition of "Sleep no More"

For all you folks who like a good fright & waking up in the middle of the night

try reading

"Still Waters"

Mystery tales of the Canals by Margaret Cornish.

this was released around 1982 but has rec been re released.

The tunnel & Never tie up under the spinneys are ones i remember being told as a child.

 

"Death on the Waterways"

= Allen Scott-Davies it covers mystery deaths & Murders

 

"Shadows on the waters" = The Haunted Canals & Waterways of Britain

also by Allen Scott-Davies

 

"Canal Crimes"

= R,H. Davies

Explores a whole range of criminal activity on Britain's Waterways.

Lock your doors & check under the bed before turning the light off :unsure: :unsure:
