Cats on narrowboats

Had the last cat 20 years,he died in his sleep.....one time he ate a bait with a fish hook in it....... first I noticed was the nylon line out of his mouth.....he was Xrayed by the vet ,who said its either surgery ,or let the lot pass thru......which it apparently did.......Not common for cats to eat bait,but very common with dogs that wolf down anything that smells bad..............I got a new cat from the RSPCA.......they assured me he had been surrendered ,but it was quickly obvious he was a feral ......even now ,three years later ,I dont know where he is most of time...............even asleep at night ,he hides out somewhere in the house where he cant be found.......Only had him on the boat once ...he hated the wash of passing boats and wailed loudly until I took him home.
