What advise? Replace with same? Or Prm? New/recon?

As a fairly competent engineer is repair an option?

Your thoughts please?

When this happened to me with a Hurth 150 I replaced it with a new one. As it is your holiday you may want a quick repair and wish to do the same.

Tks for the offer - ours is the, 150 :-(

Just a thought - would the mountings be the same as the 150? Could I fit it as a short term solution while I refurbished the 150?

Where are you btw?

If you need new, try Lancing Marine. My Hurth went Bang! not very long after losing reverse and after being given the run around (and worse) by a certain "gearbox specialist" in Warwickshire who supplied a recon 'box, I took a drive to south coast to pick up a shiny new ZF. And very happy we have been these years later.

Hurth boxes.. Vorsprung clunk technik! Fit a PRM , British and best by a mile, No connection with the company but a very satisfied trade user who has fitted them to more engines than I care to remember!

Would the Prm be a straight replacement? Or need an adapter?

Tks 4 the advice :-)

Without checking the drawings, it will probably need a new bell housing, drive plate, and perhaps aquadrive

Your best bet in a hurry is to replace like with like
