As a fairly competent engineer is repair an option? Your thoughts please? When this happened to me with a Hurth 150 I replaced it with a new one. As it is your holiday you may want a quick repair and wish to do the same. Leo.

stuart23
If you are replacing with a new one, check the ratio as the new ones are a different ratio to older ones
RLWP
If you want this done in a hurry, TallPaul's gearbox sounds like a good solution. Especially if you are handy with a spanner Richard

eightpot
If you need new, try Lancing Marine. My Hurth went Bang! not very long after losing reverse and after being given the run around (and worse) by a certain "gearbox specialist" in Warwickshire who supplied a recon 'box, I took a drive to south coast to pick up a shiny new ZF. And very happy we have been these years later.

RLWP
Would the Prm be a straight replacement? Or need an adapter? Tks 4 the advice :-) Without checking the drawings, it will probably need a new bell housing, drive plate, and perhaps aquadrive Your best bet in a hurry is to replace like with like Richard
