Because people who would want it, and I'm surprised it doesn't appeal to your bonkers nature, need to get a move on due to the shortness of the auction

Richard

Ah I see.

Never mind the shortness of the auction, I don't want it because of the longness of the engine.

(Not that I've measured Adebaran's engine room to check, I hope you understand...)

Probably much easier to get running quiet enough to satisfy you than that semi-diesel!

A word of warning.

This engine pictured is not the one offered for sale. The picture is of a lovely K2 in a boat called Strider. It is definitely NOT for sale.

A scam?

eta: It looks as though the picture was lifted from this blog

Bloody hell the scammers have gone onto engines have they?

I thought it looked good for the money.

Have you told the owner of the boat, who's picture has been lifted.

Yes he knows and is not happy!

Obviously scammers don't know that the world of vintage engines is very small and most Kelvin owners know where all the K2s are.

I still can't work out how the scam is supposed to work.

Oh yes. 2-3 years ago I reported on a National 2DM for sale. Advertised in London, vendor (apparently) in Luton, engine located in Scotland (at a non existent address). Vendor did not respond to questions about viewing. Would not take cash on collection, but wanted a bank transfer first.

Fishy? You bet!

This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available.

Interesting that the seller is not some flybynight, but appears to be an established Ebay member with a good feedback score.

Possibly the eBay account has been hi jacked.

Mine was some years ago and I was supposed to be selling a 42ft power boat based in Plymouth. I didn't own the boat for sale at all.

Quite how the scam worked I never found out, unless it was COD.

The bloke selling that Kelvin P4 with what looks like a PRM gearbox, is a complete moron. The errant description was pointed out to him when first advertised as well as the likely value (£500 or so) but he persists time and again wacko.png
