system 4-50
It is a particular way of ringing handbells in the English style, ie ringing changes not tunes. It looks like I can't justify a set of bells for the boat! It takes a minimum of four people.
oldironsides
Why four people? Surely you can ring four in hand? Therefore you only need two.
kbarber
Why four people? Surely you can ring four in hand? Therefore you only need two. It is possible for one person to ring four handbells to changes. But even the idea of two baffles me... my poor grey cell has yet to work out how to split itself so each bell knows what it's doing! Certainly the standard way of ringing handbells is that each person has two bells. But if you want to ring handbell peals afloat I'm sure there'll be plenty of people willing to help out... I've seen a number of performances in the Comic. (But don't look at me... I never even mastered plain hunt on 5... I'll stick to tower bells thank you.) David Mack
Is "Surprise Major" your new unique boat name? It's not listed on Jim's Shed. (But Fabian Stedman is) David Edited September 23, 2011 by David Mack
