Nanni water temperature

The water temp gauge went 'erratic' last week - checked the water & engine temp mjust to make sure! Now it has stopped working altogether and I suspect the sensor is kn###d.

 

Are these sensors unique to boat engines or available as general engine spares? Are Nanni diesels marinised Toyota engines by any chance?

nanni diesels are KUBOTA based,nanni will supply a new sensor,although i have always found that BETA(who also marinise KUBOTA)are pleasant to do business with.

I don't have one, but understood Nanni engines used in canal boats these days to be based on a Kubota engine.

 

(Beta also use Kubota).

 

Sensors are unlikely to be unique to engines, but there tend to be different standards used for a combination of sender with gauge, and the sender you use must be the right "standard" at least for the gauge you have.
