16th-17th April. Air and Water Banter on the Yorks Derwent?

Featured Posts

As I type, the EA are working their way along the Yorks Derwent hacking-back the overgrowth. You may remember that I had threatened to hold a hack-back weekend on 16th and 17th April. The EA said don't bother, they'd do it, and they are!

However a few of us are still meeting up for a cruise up to Stamford Bridge on the Saturday to inspect their work and visit the Swordsman PH and the whisky shop.

There will probably be a bit of a BBQ and a jam session on Sutton lock island Saturday evening. Two good real ale pubs are within easy staggering distance.

We might visit Yorks Air Museum and Breighton Airfield on the Sunday, which is 'Thunder Day' at the Air Museum. They'll be running up and taxiing the Victor and possibly the Nimrod too.

If anyone fancies joining us by road or by boat, they would be welcome. PM me? Room to camp, or doss down on floors. Hopefully it'll be a bit warmer than this:
