journeyperson
I always keep an eye on my stern tube for leaks and during the freeze the engine bilge stayed bone dry. I was at the boat on Monday and I think I checked as usual and everything was ok. I arrived today and was pleased to see that all the ice has disappeared but when I looked in the engine bilge there was quite a lot of water and the stern tube was steadily drip-dripping. A few turns of the greaser and the drips stopped but I think it was a result of the freeze and thaw and is something that it would be wise to check if your boat has been left through the icy weather.
