For the first time in this sorry affair I have received some good news. I saw the Consultant today at the Bristol Oncology Centre and he confirmed that, as far as they can tell, the spots on my lungs have not changed in size so they are just spots and not the Bladder Cancer spreading to my lungs, so that is good news. Of course they still have to deal with the Bladder Cancer, which will mean a major operation to remove my Bladder and build a new one from bowel tisssue, but as Cancer goes it is not life threatening. And the best bit is that I do not have to have any more Chemo, after eight sessions in twelve weeks, it was becoming very tiresome.

Assuming that the Operation will take place sometime within the next few weeks, I am working on a time plan that I will be well enough after the operation to make my annual pilgrimage to the Braunston Historic Boat show at the end of June (by boat!), and hopefully the Lapworth banter at the beginning of June. Fingers ccrossed.

Do you get a say in how big this new bladder will be? I'd like a bigger one myself

Great news David. Don't know if we will make Braunston this year, did it by car last year just for a day.

Great news David, really pleased for you, hope all goes well for your op.

My friend's husband who raised money to fund his treatment because "NICE" wouldn't has had great results too, no new growth, some tumers have shrunk and bloods are bio chemically normal (whatever that means). Hopefully the PCT may fund further treatment now.

Right, I've finally got to the front of the queue! That's brilliant news David, and again, as we are only "down the road", we will help if we can.

It's all been said really, hasn't it ?

We are very pleased to hear the good news, and that you get a respite from the Chemo.

Cath sends her best wishes too.

I hope they don't keep you hanging around too long for the op, and you can make it to both those events.
