Brighouse canal plunge man dies

A MAN who was pulled out of the canal at Brighouse has died.

 

The 57-year-old was taken to Calderdale Royal Hospital after being rescued by firefighters from the Calder and Hebble Navigation near Mill Lane at 3pm on Monday.

 

But sadly, he lost his fight for life today.

 

A 24-year-old man, who is believed to have tried to rescue him, was also taken to hospital and later released.

Really sad news. It's not clear to me whether he jumped or fell but is sad shame either way.
