David Schweizer Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 I am sure that this must have been explained in the past, but it appears to have evaded me. What do the five stars in each members profile mean? Some people have five gold stars, some have a mixture of gold and white, and some have all five stars white.
carlt Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 (edited) If you look at your (or anyone's) profile, you can see that you can "rate" a member. You have 5 stars so you have only received good "reviews" some people have one or two, which means they are less popular, some have no stars which means nobody has expressed an opinion. Edited to say, I just checked and I notice I have 4 stars, which surprises me, considering some of the hate mail I receive. Edited June 5, 2009 by carlt
Naughty Cal Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Mine has gone from 1 to 3 in the last week. Good effort
andywatson Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Mine has gone from 1 to 3 in the last week. Good effort Oh dear. I've only got 2. Nobody loves me.
MoominPapa Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 If you look at your (or anyone's) profile, you can see that you can "rate" a member. Oh, I have five. How exciting! BTW I was briefly confused by this. If you look at your own profile, you won't be given the opportunity to vote for yourself. Look at another member's profile to see the "rate" facility. MP.
carlt Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Oh dear.I've only got 2. Nobody loves me. You appear to have 4, now.
carlt Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 None ... if feel inadequate now Things can change, though, don't be too disheartened.

Thanks for the explanation Carl, I didn't know whether it meant something to do with having been disciplined by the moderators, or was something to do with being rated. I now expect mine to plumet.
lemontoes Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 I think I preferred not to know. I have none ........ which I am going to view as a positive thing. I would worry that it could upset some people, and put them off posting.
carlt Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 I have none ........ which I am going to view as a positive thing. Too late! Thanks for the explanation Carl, I didn't know whether it meant something to do with having been disciplined by the moderators, or was something to do with being rated. I now expect mine to plumet. These days I just base my popularity on who's suing me for libel.
Gibbo Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 These days I just base my popularity on who's suing me for libel. I find it amusing that you have twice as many stars as your current libel adversary. Gibbo
carlt Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 I find it amusing that you have twice as many stars as your current libel adversary. Gibbo It's not about popularity, though. The most important thing is money!
Naughty Cal Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 These days I just base my popularity on who's suing me for libel. Did i miss something along the way?
carlt Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Did i miss something along the way? Yes, Chris w is suing me (so he says) because I besmirched his good character. I'm still awaiting the summons , though.
RLWP Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Did i miss something along the way? I think you had to be there to understand all this. Richard I wasn't there either

carlt Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Is that why your Sealine SC38 isnt moving? The yacht, in Monte Carlo, must stay in port, too.
Naughty Cal Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 The yacht, in Monte Carlo, must stay in port, too. Shame
