DaveR
We are at present just South of Macclesfield and heading back to the Marina at Thorne. Due to many different things the boat is rather further away from base than I had originally intended and I am now reduced to moving the boat a bit at a time. I am able to get back to the UK every other weekend when I will have either the full Saturday or Sunday to make progress. I recon I can reasonably do about 25 lock miles in a day. I intend to complete the Mac and then onto the Huddersfield Narrow going onto the Aire and Calder then 'home'. Does anyone forsee any problems with what I intend to do (advice on leaving her on the towpath etc.) - I know to book the Standedge well in advance. Gary Peacock
Your quite welcome to leave her with us when you get to Mirfield on the Calder & Hebble if you want.
John Orentas
Your next stop could be in the Ashton-u-Lyne area, for a temporary mooring try; Lees narrowboats at Hyde 0161 367 9205 or Portland Basin Marina Dukinfield 0161 330 3133 In both cases explain your predicament.
