Death in Leeds & Liverpool canal

I caught the tail-end of a news story on BBC Radio 2 that in the early hours of today, Sunday 10th May, a car went through railings and barriers into the Leeds & Liverpool with three teenage occupants, the car overturned in the water, one occupant escaped, but two were trapped. The car was towed out by a farmer but one occupant, female, has died. The third is critical in hospital.

 

Not sure if there's any more details as yet, couldn't spot the story on BBC website, but sounds pretty grim.

It looks like it's another terrible tradgedy at Niffany swing bridge, two teenage girls died there last year when their car ended up in the canal.
