I found the bottom blacking song rather amusing.

Any idea's where one can find the full version of a recording...

The only full recording is an amateur effort which was recorded in my back bedroom. A CD copy was given to a few friends in the North Cheshire Cruising Club, including some who blacked my boat's bottom last year and inspired the song.

If you really want a copy, get in touch and I'll send you one (warts and all).

The attached may be of interest. It seems to have been written in 1945 at the time post-war waterway improvements were being discussed. Standardisation was being considered, and the poem was written by W C Pryce, who I think was Engineer for the S&SYN. I found the text in the Weaver Navigation archive at Ellesmere Port.
