WillC
Yesterday and today there have been two full pages, each day, on Canals. Is there a reason for so much publicity?Sue I would guess that it is related to the current look at BW assets (there is a Gov-wide look at all departments) to see whether BW has any assets that can be sold off to help alleviate the current monetary crisis. Maffi
Narrowboat World runs a story that "Robin’s key objective for 2008/9 is to produce a strategy for reducing British Waterways’ costs by £10 million per year. According to information obtained from British Waterways under the Freedom of Information Act . . . ." Yet he is quoted in the Times saying, "There is a 30 mil shortfall in our funding, we have to make every penny we earn and spend count". He must be getting a bl**dy big bonus.
