As agreed at our inaugural meeting in April, the SOW Committee are pleased

to announce that we will be holding an open meeting to discuss current and

future SOW campaign strategy. Non-members are welcome.

The meeting will be held at the Lichfield Cruising Club on Saturday, October 11th.

The doors will open at 1030 am for a 1100 am start. There will be a break for

lunch around 1pm and we will reconvene for the afternoon session at 2pm. There

will be a full bar available. Travel instructions and agenda to follow.

We are pleased to announce that John Edmonds, Chair of the Inland Waterways

Advisory Council (IWAC), will set the tone of the meeting with a talk about the

role of IWAC and how the 1999 paper, 'Waterways for Tomorrow' has taken

a central role in current and future government policy.

Please RSVP to campaign@saveourwaterways.org.

Over the summer a number of members have been distributing posters and

membership applications at key locations around the network. We would like to follow

this up with a press release to local media with a view to highlighting local issues.

If you have any issues that you would like raised - for example, need for dredging, vegetation

control, fly tipping, towpath damage, etc. - please send details (including photos if you have

them) to us at campaign@saveourwaterways.org.

We hope that you can attend the meeting,

Regards

Will Chapman

Chairman, Save Our Waterways
