an unscheduled and un-welcomed heart attack on Tuesday 16th September meant I was unable to attend

I think, under the circumstances, that you had a legitimate excuse! I do hope you behave yourself, stick to the prescribed meds and try and chill out. It's a shame you've lost out on your holiday this time, but there will be others.

I well remember meeting up with you at Portland Basin. Wish you'd managed to meet up with us again, as this time the weather was SO much better, and there was even a remote possibility that I could persuade R.J. to actually STOP for a while.....

As for the next banter, I have no idea when or if one is planned, but last night's was pretty good. Myself, R.J., Bones, Maffi, Travis, Dr Bradley, Cheshire~Rose, Postcode and Chris JW, the HBF himelf.....I believe Nobber also put in an appearance....

Andy (Travis) travelled over from the dark side after dropping his other half at the airport, and booked into the local hotel for the night to join us. Jan and Postcode arrived from somewhere around Birmingham on two wheeled infernal machines after completing a day at w**k (and then proceeded to snore for England all night.....) Next time we offer them a bunk, I will make sure it has sound-proofing!

Dr Bradley left his new boat (and his computer!) totally unsecured to shoot up and join us and the HBF (bless his little cotton socks....) arrived at the last minute, nursing a head cold and looking for sympathy...

Ah bless....he came to the wrong place! After a week with all those locks, it was US who were needing the sympathy!

All in all it was a good week, meeting new people and forging new friendships.....Bones and Maffi may have a slightly different slant on things! I'm afraid we may have tired them out, but then she did ask for it and she was warned in advance! I sort of get the feeling that she may never wish to see another lock again....

to dream of beautiful hills and lovely people

Hmmmmm. The skellington is hallucinating again. No matter....leave her to her fantasies....isn't hindsight a most wonderful thing?

We've had nice people, beautiful hills (Hills my dear? No, them weren't just hills...them were the Pennines!)

We is buggered. We is all completely buggered! That ain't just the royal "we"....that is all of us....if any member of our crew remains awake for the whole of today, then they will deserve a medal.
