Accident at Barrow-on-Trent

Noticed this on the BBC website:

Thankfully both Mother and baby were rescued from the car.

 

Not sure whether this has made problems for passage on the Trent & Mersey Canal.

I read that too. Thankfully they managed to resucitate the little girl, or it could have been very tragic. She's stable but in ITU. Let's hope she makes a full recovery.

My partner and I are just getting ready to continious cruise and I have suggested that we should attend a first aid course before we go as you never know when you might need it.

I just wonder how many boaters would have known what to do in the situation what those nurses faced.
