Very surprised to see this. I had thought it would only apply to domestic electricity whereas the marina would be a commercial enterprise.

Temporary zero rate of VAT in Great Britain for domestic...

it will apply to electricity supplied to liveaboard boaters. It is not clear to me whether non-residential craft would count as domestic use. But the marina may have an agreement with HMRC to that effect (as it would be cumbersome to charge residential and non residential craft differently).

Not sure I agree with that. I interpret is as meaning electricity supplies currently already qualifying for VAT at the reduced 5% rate for domestic use, e.g. houses, caravans and whatever else.

So if the whole marina is currently paying at 5%, then this changes to 0%. If boaters' accounts are currently charged at 20%, then it stays at 20%.

It's a shame it's not Gas and Kero for domestic use as well. Does the standing charge go to zero percent as well as that is 70% of my yearly bill.

The standing charge for kero is already zero percent.

Bet you knew that really!

Yes you are right I could have put an extra word in there to save confusion.

I don't use Kero, I included it so those that use it didn't feel left out🤔

If I was using Kero then I would be replacing it with a heat pump PDQ.

If I hadn't had a new gas boiler last year I would be fitting a heat pump.
