Looking for a boat my parents once owned

Hi, I am looking for a boat my parents owned around 1996/97/98 it’s a steel wide beam boat around 45ft long it was called Pride and Joy colours were cream blue and red, my dad often thinks about this boat and slightly regrets selling it, I would love to find it not to buy but for my dad to see it again, we had some lovely holidays we have very fond memories on there, if anyone has any information I would be really grateful, thank you

Welcome to the forum. If you can post a photo, that might help, especially if the name has been changed, or the colours.

I can see what looks like a registration number, near the stern, painted in cream on the upper red stripe. If you find a photograph which shows that more clearly, it would help.

 

The number does not look like a British Waterways number which got me thinking, where was the boat kept? That would potentially help narrow down where it is now, as being a widebeam it can only travel to certain points on the connected waterways, so unless it has been craned out and moved, that is a good starting point.

Looks like it was on the broads in that photo going by the design of the boat in the backround, but can't be sure.

Hi, we had it moored at the Pike snd Eel in needingworth on the river Great Ouse, dad sold it to a man who lived in Hemingford Abbots that’s the last I know, I will get some better pictures when I can and will upload them, thanks everyone for helping me find the boat

Unfortunately it appears not to be unique. Subsequent postings have it as a Seamaster 18 Cub which rather implies there might be loads of boats exactly the same floating about on the broads/fens. Possibly ex-hire boats.

The shape is very similar to some Broads grp hulls, almost identical to our Gay Sonestas (Thames), in fact so similar I tend to question the steel bit.

Hi, it was a unique boat what we do know is that it was built by 2 brothers, when one of the brothers died he sold it, my dad got it at some point after then from a marina I can’t remember where that was, the man who brought the boat off my dad happened to be the brother who solid it years before, we know he owned it up until he died in 2020

The Sea,aster  was a Red Herring as the O.P.  sats it was a Great Ouse boat and not Broads.
