Been a while hey folks. Now not a clue on what boat count this is as i have had so many and i cant count past 10 haha. And for last.couple.of years i have. Been enjoying the rewards of my last boat sale and got my dream car as below. And as being physically knackered i have syarywd fishing big time again. Just built a tackle.shed.

I know this is not a.canal boat but i see a few on here do like the Shetland boats and this being a 535 with a shortend cuddy to make good deck soace. And it has great amounts for a.18 foot boat.

Reason i got it due to me wanting to get o er my sea sick sickness. Used to get gippy.on the camal many moons ago lol.. trie all.way since to get to sea but nothing works for me. Ginger, tablets of all.kinds so ill do it the hard way.

And the new toy. All good and solid but for a.few.bad reparis that have cracked ill sort them.easy enough in the top deck.

I used to have problems.when flying but very little and it didnt really bother me.

Dad had it bad and when he past 40 years old,  he was fine and it went away. My brother was real bad but when a kid he had to get the school bus and that was a 15 mile.trip through Cumbria. After a month or so he got used to it.

Reason i think maybe face it head on.

This was mine back in the day:

This was a family boat so different layout - 2 adults, one one year old in carry cot and one three year old.  Notice the baby bottle and terry nappies! The arrangement on the front is the washing line.

Just seen the pics of the new boat and the tow car. It'll look great behind that! Seriously, the '81 (is it?) Corvette is gorgeous, don't envy your fuel economy though with prices as they are, my 19mpg 40 year old diesel is bad enough. The Shetland looks a solid canvas to get to work on. Nothing too big or daunting to do before it could go back in the water. Sort out the GRP repairs to topsides, windows, steering, teleflex, transom plate, check and or seal any through hull skin fittings etc, manual bilge pump, anchor and ropes and stick on an engine. Not trying to teach grandma how to suck eggs, just that I found they were a cinch to work on and fettle because no individual job was too time consuming or costly in itself (engine excluded). Have fun with both the new toys 🙂

There is no way in thsi world i would stick a tow bar on the 81 ;)  Vette. I though for a moment you psotted the tow car as its just in a picture, that being a Mazda Bongo of 30 years old. That is not great on fuel, maybe high 20`s but i run it on vg oil at 80p a litre. And well to run a Vette doing around 16mpg as low as 10mpg is not heer or there in cost, its about the fun and smiles you get. I use it a lot, shopping trips, this weekend if nice ill be off fishing in it. Above asll the overall cost of both is half the cost of an average family car on tick and insurance ;)

Ill be doing as little as needed for now to the boat. near as what you would do. all easy work, lot less than my last projects i think you will agree haha.

Spot on. Friends talk about 'their' posh modern cars. Let's see who they belong to if they stop paying the finance. Most of them aren't even that, they are a contract lease where you can never own the car. My car is ancient (but still 5 yrs younger than your 'vette), it didn't come off a forecourt with a finance package attached when I bought it via private sale, paid money to previous owner which was funded via completely separate one year personal loan. Now done, so mine, and as you say loads cheaper than a boringmobile on tick 🙂
