I’m hoping that there are some random pictures still yet to surface of the Butty CYGNUS between 1964 and 1966 when Ray and Margaret White were working with COLESHILL/CYGNUS

Obviously if anyone has ANY pictures before that I’d be really grateful too.

There's a set of photos by Alan Price of the pair unloading timber at Cox's on the BCN Haines Branch, 1966.

Andy Tidy has them on his blog - scroll down a bit:

Thanks for the link Francis. I first came across the Haines Branch in the mid 70s. I think the entrance bridge had just been demolished to facilitate the laying of natural gas mains in the towpath. I do remember seeing the then recently demolished aqueduct just by Sheepwash Bridge. Shame I didn't take photos back then!

Here is one I took in Stratford Basin during the week the canal was formally reopened.

And people accuse modern day boaters of being sloppy how they tie up!

I'm intrigued by the motor and its perfect counter.  Obviously a replacement of an original, but I could be persuaded it is of all welded contruction.  Is it, or are there rivets I'm failing to spot?

Our FLAMINGO worked out its stay with Willow Wren CTS paired with CYGNUS, worked by Ron Withey, but I don't think I have any photos of this pairing not already featured in published books or postcards.
