wittonend Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 Here's two winter walks along the Grand Union if you fancy a seasonal stroll: https://youtu.be/GCdlV63OQyg https://youtu.be/6qaWHgUx4n8
LadyG Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 (edited) Lovely photos, ty. I have my Karrimor leather boots, but i think the soles are a bit polished because I'm not tackling Penny Gent, so they are smoother than required. Can I use a Stanley knife blade to increase traction? One boot slipped off the gunnel last week. Edited January 2 by LadyG

But if resorting to removing the shine before any use, I wouldn't use a stanley knife, I would try some scouring with P40 Indasa RHYNALOX Production Paper. Not easy to find in shops but available on line, or ask a friendly car bodyworker for a sheet.

I've got some hefty emery type paper, will give it a go, ty. Edited January 3 by LadyG

Vibram soles are not inherently shiney, so it will only be the surface which has been polished by regular walking on smooth surfaces. You certainly do not want to damage your expensive Vibram soles with a Stanley knife. Edited January 3 by David Schweizer
