Set one up if you really care, or is it just "whataboutery"?

I do stuff behind the scenes, i dont look for credibility.

There is definitely a recent trend for people to get terribly upset about something relatively trivial that happened to someone they have never met, whilst completely ignoring actually horrific things.i don’t think it has a name, but it probably will do eventually.
As an aside a smallish WhatsApp group I’m a member of, returned a few condolences when I reported the death of my mother. But a few weeks later, the report of the death of someone’s ancient Labrador elicited far more, and far more heartfelt condolences. As a society we have completely lost the plot!

Just to clarify , I put the link up for those who may be interested.

For those that aren't why not open a new thread to discuss the iniquitous nature of the world.

Merry Christmas

It's a DISCUSSION forum. It isn't up to you how that discussion develops.

But this wasn't ever a discussion topic just easy access to a donation link ... please read the opening post.

Some of you could start a fight in a phone box , but goodness knows why you'd want to.

Anyway, many have donated so hopefully the unfortunates can have an easier Christmas.

Maybe the mods can wipe this thread.

I wonder when the Mods are going to close this thread considering the language used and the behaviour of two members?

I reported it my self.

Just leave it locked.

The fund has raised over £30k in two days which will go a long way towards softening the bitter blow of this week.

Nothing to be discussed really ... the thread was simply to publicise the link and that's done.

That's the guy who started the fund, Paul Smith Storey.

Interview with the C&RT engineer and an update on the work that's already begun if anyone's interested.

IF it turned out that one of the people affected had a house they were renting out to someone else while they live in the Boat do they still get a portion the charitable donations?

Are these people properly vetted to ensure that they are actually in need of assistance.

If not then the money could be for the beer fund.
