Heartland Posted December 25, 2025 Author Report Posted December 25, 2025 It is CHRIST MARCH as Slade Sings My view is indeed Sheets Stores Basin and that is a modern view that links with the Erewash Canal The Basin was constructed originally for Coke Traffic. The Midland Counties Railway like all other early railways had locomotives that burnt coke and the Midland Counties Railway was built to link Rugby with Leicester, Nottingham and Derby It is mentioned in my new book the Great Railway Speculations Vol 1, Pen and Sword p65-71 and coke traffic on page 94, just published.
