Hello

I’m relatively new to boating and brand new to this forum . We have a 50ft Steve  Hudson nb. Have been doing some upgrades and so on but have not found any fusebox. I’ve looked behind the switchboard near the gearstick but only found 2 in line fuses. Have I missed something more obvious ?!

anyone any thoughts ?

I owned a Hudson for a number of years it was built in 2003, I bought it in 2007 from the first owner another forum member. All I can say is it had a very comprehensive modern lectric set up based on Mastervolt kit and extensive consumer unit. It sounds to me like you are missing something somewhere or you boat has been extensively messed about with.

Are you sure these "switches" are not MCB circuit breakers (modern fuses)? They can look like switches until one trips and switches itself off.

When you say fuses, do you mean for the 12v dc systems or for the mains ac systems?

Not entirely sure now but Didnt Steve sell the occasional hull for self fit out?

Yes, I looked at buying a hull from him, but it didn't work out

Ah interesting

it’s in good condition and the stuff is original Mainly . I wondered whether the switches were mcb circuit breakers…

12V dc.

thanks to all your responses. I love the ( largely ) very helpful boating community

Yes he did. But none of them were 50’ and 2002 vintage according to “the list”.

Anyway, probably the question relates to dc, and I think the dc distribution panel has switches which are also breakers. I’m not certain because ours was a one-off with digital dc distribution.

There are two threads with the same title, and the other one has got photos.

And those pictures show 9 MCBs (Miniature circui breakers) as well as one blade fuse that looks like it is a late addition.

For future ref., did you just unscrew the switchboard and not the large wood panel its attached to?

I only say this as a previous BSS examiner noted we had no galvanic isolator and should get one fitted, when the electrician came to do his work he popped that panel off and there one was, along with the travelpower unit and a few other bits that make no sense to a non-electrician like me.
