CRT put a sticker on it, person pops up says I've no house to live, no money to eat and you're taking my boat. 100's of agencies jump in and demand the process stops, person claims mental anguish and torment by CRT.  Needs a review in court, but the courts are all full to busting - Wait for a court date, which is then put back and back and back. Then add about another few 1000 cases all the same.

What about someone who has had a stroke or heart attack and hasn't had the chance to inform C&RT? Crushing the boat without sufficient warning might seem a little harsh?

 

Not being a leftie here, what ever that actually means anymore, just trying to be thoughtful...

Given two weeks in one place is allowed plus another two or three weeks to even establish a boat is overstaying, I think they will have had time to mention the heart attack to CRT. 

 

I'd also politely suggest more cases of over-staying are the result of deliberate rule-flouting than heart attacks.

Most of the pix of such hotels (eg Bell Hotel) are far from 5 star - at best The Bell was 3 star. Others probably did not have any stars at all. 

 

I do wonder what the impact has been/will be on the owners of the hotels - will their premises now close because they are not actually good enough to make a profit from through non-migrant customers? What will the staff think about that?

When my Dad had a sudden stroke whilst he was driving and rushed to hospital I was in the middle of nowhere on my boat. Got to a road pulled up and went to see him. I informed Cart the same day and they said I could stay were I was for as long as I needed, they also asked me that if I wanted they would find me a marina, of course at my cost, I said yes please. Lemonroyd rang me an hour later, they were full but a boat was out for the summer and I could have his mooring, obs I paid, I was there about six weeks. The usual fantastic service I received for well over thirty years.

Even a 3 star rating over hear is probably  a 10 star plus from where most on a dinghy come from. So no need to complain really.

At a cost of £1,300,000 per day (paid by the British taxpayer) you'd think their accomodation, spending money, telephone etc etc would be something 'very special', and above the norm for them.
