Calcutt locks

Yes the good news for the moment is the Braunston pound level is fine, we are in Braunston at the moment, having come down from the Leicester line summit where the level is also very good.  We are too nervous to go far now, so will hang around here for another week, unless restrictions come in on Calcutt, before going home and calling time in boating for this year, probably (sad face).

I try not to be negative about C&RT but they fixed the bottom lock gates and this lot is going over the weir next to it and all that is leaking through the top lock gates. At the same time they are all locked up to save water and the backpumps are running. Why not fix the top gates that keep the Braunston level full of water?

It was like that when we came down last Sunday.
Water pouring through the top gates of the top lock and the back pump running.
