Can anybody offer any insight on high usage mooring at Shakespeare Marina and if they would recommend? I know it is prone to flooding but has floating pontoons etc. Moving to Stratford with my boat for work. Many thanks in advance.

Thanks so much for the reply - they did say they have extended all of the securing piles since then when I had a tour, so I don't think this will be a problem but I will check.

We have left the boat there twice on a short term mooring.  The are quite a few “high usage” boats there, so you would have plenty of company.  It is nice and very well kept with good facilities and parking.  It is a bit of a trek from the boat to the car, but you will already have seen that.  I don’t know what long term pricing is like, but if is not cheap for short term, but then they have no competition.  I would say you really want a car there, it is a good walk to the station, but perfectly doable, made easier by the access gate to the towpath right by the foot bridge.  The pontoons are the usual bouncy floating ones, which of course area bit essential, see the photos.  Good to here the poles have been extended!
