I'm often down the canal in Mirfield gongoozling while I walk the dogs, so I had a quick look at what you've got.

The note on your "Mirfield visitors moorings" says you aren't sure it's the correct position. But it's actually bang on. I've attached a screenshot of the Google street view to show you.

However there are further moorings on the west side of the bridge, on the opposite side (towpath is now opposite too).

Also the Navigation inn had a mooring for patrons, and I heartily recommend a visit. Excellent range of real ales and first class food at a very good price. The "Navi Smash Burger" is Einstein and the loaded nachos to share are heavenly.

Here's two pictures showing the west side of the bridge with the additional visitor moorings and "the Navi" on the opposite bank

Nothing major... I did recently notice a floating pontoon mooring on the river, West of the Mirfield Valley and Hebble Navigation, just before the Cooper Bridge cut, but I couldn't see any signage indicating that it was CRT, or private, or whatever.

Also, just beyond Cooper Bridge, before the flood lock, and the branch off to the Huddersfield canal, There are some visitor moorings, enough for maybe three 45' boats. I think they are 48hrs, but I'll double check tomorrow on my run.

Have you been able to find out whether the floating pontoon mooring you noticed is maintained by the Canal & River Trust (CRT) or is it privately owned? Are there specific rules or permits required for using that mooring?

Sorry. I was being an idiot. It's the pontoon you tie on to, to go and operate the lock into the Huddersfield narrow canal. I guess your could go on it overnight, once lock traffic stops?

And no one else wants to use the lock first thing next morning

Don’t get into bad habits, next you’ll be mooring on water points overnight, It’s all down hill from there In the popularity stakes😂
