Car Parking near Whaley Bridge

Some friends are hoping to join us for 3 to 4 days. I think, depending on water levels, we'll ideally be picking them up from the Whaley Bridge area and travelling down towards Stoke. Does anyone have any good tips on where they can park, within a short walking distance of the train station would be ideal, so they can catch the train back to their car. I've checked the local car parks but they all seem to have max 10 hr stay limits.

Not sure,

some get away with parking on side of path/road going down to basin at Bugsworth.

Personally I’d be tempted to do it the other way around. 
Dump the car around Stoke and catch train to Whaley. So me car’s waiting for me in Stoke. Might have more options then🤷‍♀️

Try asking a local if you can park on their drive.

You do know that the Macclesfield canal has 2 long closures?

Unless things have changed recently then Id be tempted to dump me car here,

just don’t block the 5 bar gate,

certainly a safe a spot as you’ll find anywhere

Outside the Transhipment Shed is, IIRC, a possibility
