We will be updating Canal World to the latest version of Invision this weekend, either late Saturday or Sunday evening. Canal World will be down during this window though it's not expected to last more than 2 hours. This is a minor update and the overall look and feel will remain the same, but there may be some minor differences. We will confirm on completion.

Thank Gawd for that, given the debacle the last major update turned out to be!

Thank you for the advanced warning :)

How was it a debacle? A lot of time and effort went into that voluntarily and with due respect, maintaining the site is in the best interest of all users, and while some changes may be beyond our control - given that the software is developed by a third party - they are necessary to ensure continued functionality and security.

On a related note, a new major version is on the horizon, bringing more significant updates. However, its release on CWDF is still months away, if not longer but it's coming. More about this will follow in the coming months ahead.

Cant believe you've planned this during the BCN 24 hour challenge....CWDF is an lifeline for those without other comms....🫥

I too work a day job Mon-Fri and some things can't wait. It will be done late in the evening anyhow.

Well it was installed with no advanced warning that whole look, feel and operation of their forums would be changing from the ground up. The introduction of "Activity Streams" in particular with no documentation to explain them and we were all left to try to figure them out for ourselves. Invision should have been dumped for doing that to us at that point, IMHO.

Just to clarify I mean it was a debacle by Invision, not the CWF admin team. I think the CWF admin team was as taken aback by the extent of the changes as were the members here.

Mentioning "horizon" regarding software updates surely is not the best idea... :)

This work is now complete

Didn't notice anything. Well done for keeping it so unobtrusive.
