I just realised that I hadn't seen any posts from MRSmelly for a while and looking at his profile his last post was in December.. I know he didn't enjoy good health but does anyone know if he is OK? Hopefully he is just taking a break from the forum and will be back soon

I thought Mrs. Melly was cohabiting with Mr. Smelly. Maybe they split up because he could not be bothered to fix the shower on NB Noeaudorous

Don't think so ! Is Mrs M not from the Lincoln area while Mr smelly now lives in Wales

I think @peterboat can probably fill in details of where Mrsmelly now is;). My understanding (which may well be incorrect) is that he objected to having 'warning points' applied, so decamped (willing to be corrected).

That is a question I asked particularly in relation to another member who posts in a very similar style, but was assured it wasn't him.

No connection. To be honest I'm flattered as Smelly spoke a lot of sense built on decades of experience as far as I could tell, whereas I just blunder around the forum in almost total ignorance. Never been sure whether it was 'Mr Smelly' or 'Mrs Melly' given the stated gender as female, but that could have just been japes. Hope (s)he is ok.

^^^ As she said

Hoping he's okay and just downtiming from the forum. Never met IRL and politics not the same but an appreciated, friendly, knowledgeable and funny member here. Even if he has become a landubber.

We met him a long while back when he was running the cafe at Heyford.

Polar opposite on politics but a nice man.

Yes, I hope he and his are OK.

Same here, he even gave me a free BWB key

Totally correct, he has also had a kidney transplant so is fairly poorly.

He wouldn't except warning points as he didn't like the way the forum was heading, he has also had a kidney transplant so is fairly poorly, I will pass on regards to him

My personal mobile number for Tim comes back as not known unfortunately.

I'm genuinely surprised that he was prepared to enter the 21st century to the extent of having a mobile!

Give him my regards please Peter.

Ditto. I knew he was waiting for a transplant but didn't realise it had happened.

Dave and I wish him well.

We rarely agreed on anything, although there was one area that we certainly aligned on and that was the ridiculous price of houses. I don't know what his 'warning points' were supposed to be for, I make a point of not complaining about anybody because none of it is that important. Perhaps he'll view the 'warning points' in the same light and consider a return ;).

Hope that he mends well, is that his first kidney transplant? I  thought he had a previous one following his incident when he was in the Police

If I remember correctly from when I've overstepped the mark and received a warning you have to press a button acknowledging and accepting the warning before you can post again. It's my understanding that Tim refuses to do this.

Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.

The system is faulty. It is like the police expecting a person to plead guilty to a crime before being told what the crime is.
