HI I am David Widdop I am based in Keighley West Yorkshire and I am one of the last surviving members of the Widdop family which made the famous Widdop engines . At one time our family employed over 30,000 staff before the business was sold to a company in Scotland which was later bought out themselves.

Whilst going through some records I came across several manual on the Widdop Engines these are the original manuals complete with drawings , setting and specifications and I was wondering if the information contained in these manuals (They are a bit similar to Haynes manuals but have a black cover and have gold leaf writing on the covers) would be of any use to anybody .

Unfortunately I cannot claim that I have any part engines or parts of engines apart from a few engine plates made of brass which I want to keep
Some of you may know that when the Second World War broke out production was switched to much bigger engines and I do have photos of these and the ships that they went into as far as I am aware the last of the ships that had one of these engines ended up abroad before finally getting scrapped.

Anyway if anyone ids looking for information on the engines and they make contact with me I will do my very best to help.

Regards

David WIDDOP
