Yes.

A lovely pub and well worth the yomp up the hill from Bridge 101 or 102.

I'd wanted to visit but the first time I got there it was 2.30 ish on a Sunday afternoon and people were leaving.

Bu99er I thought. Too late, closing time. But I went in to see people still in the bar. "Are you still open?" I asked. "We will stay open as long as people want serving" as the reply.

I sat down with a pint to read (the previous days) newspaper.

"Are you up from the canal?" the landlady asked. (However could she tell 😀 ) "The kitchen is closed but if you want something to eat I could get you a sandwich"

Such a lovely attitude.

The beer wasn't bad either, Phipps and Church End.

Very much a top pub and, to use a guide book phrase, worth the detour.

Would endorse this. Lovely reception from Linda, pleasant meal and nice ambience. We went there earlier this year and would love to go again. Nice trip from Dunchurch, lay up for the night and return the next day.
