hider Posted September 1, 2024 Report Posted September 1, 2024 I have been told by a person who knew Tracy that she moved to Portugal, and has since died. I cannot get confirmation but have no reason to believe otherwise. 11

dmr Posted September 1, 2024 Report Posted September 1, 2024 Sad news, but not unexpected. So who was Tracy? Somebody who knew a lot more about boats and engines than the average boater, somebody who worked in or ran a boatyard of some sort? 2

She said in a post that she only had a limited time left on earth, I didn't ask what it was but assumed cancer, a friend of Jayne and I did similar maybe for specialist treatment? It didn't work in her case either
jonathanA Posted September 1, 2024 Report Posted September 1, 2024 I always assumed that it was a new name for some old hand or there was some forum history that I wasn't aware of (or cared about). I was amazed at the depth of knowledge and willingness to share. Agree sad loss. Sympathies to the family.
David Schweizer Posted September 1, 2024 Report Posted September 1, 2024 I always have assumed that Tracy was actually a man, and someone who I knew. I wrote to him and asked whether we knew each other and wheher they would reveal their identity, the reply indicated that we did know each other, but would rather not say who they were. This response was very much in the character of the person I thought was calling themselves Tracy. If I am correct, I know his son, so will be able to find out quite easily.
nicknorman Posted September 1, 2024 Report Posted September 1, 2024 At one point (s)he mentioned a brain tumour. Very knowledgable, quite grumpy, a sad loss.
