Side hatch

Featured Posts

Hi

Does anyone have a dimensional drawing for a side hatch window in steel, I can fabricate it myself but I don't want to make a right f^"£ of it, I'm concerned about keeping rain from entering past the doors, it looks like the bottom cross members angles away, any help will do.

The key to Kedian ones are that the hatch is fabricated out of sections of pre-formed steel that creates a channel all round, theoretically meaning they don't leak.  I say theoretically as my boat is still in fit out stage.  Difficult to fabricate without specialist equipment i'd have thought.

I can measure mine for you if you want to send me your email

TandC Did you see my post with email, would you be able to do a drawing for me of the sidehatch, I would be so grateful.

I’m going slightly off topic for a mo.

i am needing to replace the timber linings to our side hatch. About ten or more years ago I put in ply liners. These have now delaminated and are unsightly. I would like hard wood ones with ideally a pretty pattern on them.

Any ideas? Places to go? How much etc?

Taa!

So it doesn't look as if the drawings are coming, are you Kedian who fabricates  side hatch doors amongst other things, if so what's your best price for a set, I'm trying desperately to tighten my spending, but a side hatch would be lovely, I'm a poor old working engineer.

The price is on my website £515 no VAT is to be added  if I give you a discount everyone will expect one and I will be a poor old working engineer

I would suggest buying from a local saw mill and saying you want something with an interesting grain.

This is how my late mate a cabinet maker always got his fantastic grain.

keep your knickers on - i've not been to the boat for a while.   Realistically, you're not going to fabricate them any better or more cost effectively than just buying a set off Martin.

I thought that too. Five hundred quid is a BARGAIN!

It would take me a day to research and design them, let alone source the steel and make them too.

Has anyone actually seen you and Martin Kedian in the same room together?

A light-hearted comment, Martin, hence the /s  after it.
By the way, my comment was aimed at @MtB not the OP (that's original poster)

I've never seen them in the same room together. However, I have met both of them on separate occasions and can confirm they are different people. Martin did a small job for me about 8 years ago which I was (and still am) very pleased with.

P.S. I know it was only a joke.
