I am trying to source a quality recommended boat builder who would be willing to build my wide beam boat with wheelchair access. I have hired accessible narrow boats before but think a wide beam would offer me more options since I intend to use it on a regular basis. Any suggestions on who could undertake such a build.

I'd have thought that as every boat is different and customised, any Widebeam builder would be amenable to providing wheel chair access, lift &/or hoist.

After all, its something else they can charge for !

I don't know who the builder is for "Bruce Boats" (Kennet and Avon) but they are sort of wide beam and have lifts both ends - and many other "tweaks" (PowerChair charging etc)

I really dislike the new "Eurocruiser" style things with a square back, tiny front deck and pinched in cabin at the front. We saw a huge thing on the K&A last week which was a rather nicer shape than many and the owner said it was built by Colecraft. As these are a very well established company and have also built a lot of trip boats etc, they should be worth talking to.

Id agree with Colecraft anyday and would also suggest getting in touch with Andicraft (Debdale).

These are a decent widebeam that handles well and you can see where you are going with its sensible cabin height. I know they are also very adaptable to what the customer wants..
