ej2096 Posted July 10, 2024 Report Posted July 10, 2024 Hiya I have been gifted a fibre glass row boat. (I live next to a canal) Is there anything i can paint on the bottom of boat to make it water tight, its not going to live in the water but was informed by previous owner there is a very slight slow leak somewhere from where its been dragged in and out of water Thank you
TandC Posted July 10, 2024 Report Posted July 10, 2024 Plenty of videos on YoutTube - search GRP boat repairs. But basically, sand it down, get some epoxy resin, some glass matt fibre, wet it out , do it layers, let it go off... then two-part epoxy gel coat paint to finish. I have no affiliation but these guys are good - plenty of other suppliers out there: https://www.easycomposites.co.uk/epoxy-resin
Tonka Posted July 10, 2024 Report Posted July 10, 2024 West epoxy is the best and loads of info on their site. Have repaired kayaks with their stuff.
