Odd I agree but now wonder if this was a dummy run and the first alleged 999 call from one of those arrested was intended to attract the emergency services to the scene ready for the real blast - possibly a suicide bomber in another van.

I also wonder if the release on bail was to see what contacts were made over the next few days.

I doubt we know even half of it, and what we do know may not be truth.

Since no viable explosives appear to have been found I'm not convince of the likelihood of that. With the arrest of the dual Iranian national it starts to sound to me as though a bunch of criminals were possibly recruited supposedly to go on the hunt for diesel (given it's current high price) and farmers are likely to have a store of red diesel on their farms so are likely to be a target. The one who phoned 999 may well have discovered that he was in the vicinity or RAF Fairford, realised that the job he though he had been recruited for wasn't quite what it turned out to be and panicked, thinking that they were going to attack the airbase, they were unarmed, and the guys on the airbase were and might start shooting at them. But then the Police have told us not to speculate😉

Supposedly the six people released on bail are so so scary that the frightened Americans have taken all their bombers, supposedly used only for "defensive" bombing, from USAF Fairford and run away home. This continues to make zero sense. Our incisive, completely free media continue not pointing out it makes no sense and parrot what they are told.

Not really. Perhaps the whole arrest and release the scary brown people thing was an excuse to cover them leaving, which they were going to do anyway. If Burnham has secretly told them they are no longer allowed to "defensive" bomb Iran from USAF Fairford, then it could be a face saving way of moving them to a base elsewhere and bomb from there.

According to LBC this morning, the bombers were scrambled at very short notice. The in-flight refuelling transport aircraft that are needed to allow them to cross the Atlantic, were not, as their tanks had to be loaded with fuel before they could follow them.

Which means they would have to hang around somewhere, burning fuel and circling for the tankers to catch up. Again, not making a lot of sense.

On the BBC news this evening, it was said that, in their haste to get going, some of the bombers took off without full tanks. Preumably these were the ones that required in-flight refuelling.

Still not making any sense. Some guys in a van with empty barrels got them so frightened they ran away without checking the fuel gauge as part of their preflight? Thst would mean an imminent attack, so where were all the plods and army searching the countryside for the attackers?

It would mean a cell of hard core, fully trained guys with drones, that could blow up the bombers on the ground, in which case they are still around and could divert to any other US base in the UK, or blow up other stuff at the base, so they can't come back.

Or, it is to convice the UK public it is all so scary that the UK must join in with whatever dumb thing Trimp does next.

Well that's a relief. Reform UK Ltd have investigated the alleged dodgy and illegal donations and have concluded that everything is fine. Nothing to see here, move along.
