Single person hire?

Hi all, 

I'm in the early stages of looking at buying a narrowboat as a sort of holiday home for myself. 

With this in mind I was looking at hiring a boat for a couple of weeks to see how I liked it.... But I'm struggling to find anywhere that will hire to a single occupant. Any one know if it's possible?

The day boats from the Ashby Boat Company can be hired by one person for multiple days to make a short break

Or you could just hire one with a mate and once you get to the first lock tell him to p*ss off! 😂

You could do one of those two day helmsmen courses,  you would have to find digs or sleep in the car i would think.  You would probably learn more.
