Scholar Gypsy Posted December 7, 2023 Report Posted December 7, 2023 In the 5th episode of Boat Story (BBC iplayer https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p0glcy88/boat-story-series-1-episode-5 at 56:30) there is a shot described as the Canal du Midi. (It's a rather complex plot). Looks more like the Leeds and Liverpool to me, with CRT bollards approaching the lift bridge. Any ideas >?!
rusty69 Posted December 7, 2023 Report Posted December 7, 2023 I'm never going on a boat ever again after watching that. 1

I did think, after watching the final episode, that the narrow boat must have had a rather powerful inverter; and probably a composting toilet.

magnetman Posted December 8, 2023 Report Posted December 8, 2023 With google towpath views someone must be able to replicate this image if they know where it is. Is that a railway bridge in the distance? Shame the car isn't more visible one might be able to see which side the wheel is on.
Pluto Posted December 8, 2023 Report Posted December 8, 2023 The photo is looking east towards Owl Swing Bridge, 216, with Leeds ring road bridge in the distance. 4
magnetman Posted December 8, 2023 Report Posted December 8, 2023 Not France then. I did not know about these people before this thread https://www.telegraphpoleappreciationsociety.org/
